Glassware Imports – How it all began

Hello, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Kylie and here is a little history about how we came to be Glassware Imports.

Our story started in 2007 when I was stressed out everyday, working in a job I hated for a large corporation, managing a $30 million dollar sales target in the IT&T industry. I was making a lot of money but I was miserable, because my only contribution to society was making rich people richer.  I’ve always had a niggling yearning to make a difference in the world.  I use to volunteer for the Red Cross in an attempt to give back a little, to make a small difference somewhere. But this just wasn’t enough and I couldn’t shake this feeling that I was living the wrong life.

I’ve never been a fan of strenuous exercise but I loved Yoga, so I explored different ways to balance my energy and that’s when I discovered meditation and candle making.  These two things changed the trajectory of my life completely.

Being someone with a lot of mental activity, meditation was very difficult to learn & understand in the beginning.  Lucky for me I have a very tenacious nature, which means I love a challenge and will commit 100% until I achieve any goal. And so it was whilst exploring meditation practises that I uncovered the vast array of good and bad candles in the market place. This quickly led to learning how to make my own environmentally friendly natural soy candles. And then whilst making candles, I discovered further benefits because the whole process was relaxing and I found to be quite meditative in it’s own way.

In the midst of all this hating my job and learning to meditate, I had planned to open a Café. At the time my thought process was this would be my way out of working for Corporations. Plans were well underway for the Café but many obstacles kept slowing us down, and I still had this same underlining feeling that this was not my correct path….but I didn’t know what else to do, so I kept going.

Then one day in one meditation everything became crystal clear. It was like I finally found the right frequency and the heavens opened up, and I received this download of explicit detail and information about my correct path. The next day I halted all plans for the café, lost a lot of money and within one month opened Live In Spirit Candle Making Classes & Supplies, and have never looked back.

Needless to say many people in my life at the time thought I had gone insane, but for me it was the complete opposite. I distinctly remember feeling like I had never felt so sure about anything in my life. The light had come on for the first time and even though everything was new, it felt completely right. I had fear but my passion and drive to be more and do more far outweighed the fear factor.

We started in a small shop of 30sqm. We have grown organically for over 10 years and now operate a 850sqm warehouse, managing over 4000 orders every year. Our classes have been full every week since the first, and are some of the most sort after classes in Australia. Seeing a huge gap in the marketplace, we expanded about 5 years ago to specialise in containers and jars and that’s when Glassware Imports was born.

Every year we receive countless messages from clients saying how much our classes have positively impacted their lives. They tell us how much they have grown from learning their new craft with many turning it into an income stream. We have a loyal following and many of our Melbourne customers have been with us on the journey from the very beginning and we do consider them family.

I say ‘we’ a lot because behind one persons vision is always an incredible team of people supporting it. Without support very little is possible. A special mention must be given to my two sisters Kim & Leanne because they have been cheering, helping and supporting every step of the way.

I feel very privileged to now be in a job I love, where I can assist people in their growing businesses. I’m now directly helping others achieve greater riches, whilst also helping people tab into their creativity pathways. I’ve learned through my journey that being able to exercise your creativity directly impacts your peace, happiness and wellbeing.

We look forward to being part of your journey.
